Landscape paintings progressing

Landscape paintings - again, more.
I have taken some ideas from the small studies I did last week and spent all of Monday working on these three panels.
I am exploring glazing with acrylics and different grounds on the support.
The support here is MDF, and I have used calcite, impasto and gel mediums to get some textures. I have used lots of normal acrylic medium to build up the glazes.
Some scumbling has taken well on the rough ground. Will get a detailed view of it for the next update.

More landscape paintings

Working quite small - 23 x 26 cm has its advantages - can experiment with different colours and compositions. Working in acrylics is enjoyable too. Here is the beginning of my new series. They have been inspired by my wanderings along the Yarra River at different times of the day.

My work at Art Melbourne

I created these small paintings for Art Melbourne - aka The Affordable Art Fair
They are titled Melbourne Summer 1,2,3
They demonstrate that I am getting the hang of glazing technique.

Windows at Abbotsford Convent

As part of an excursion to Abbotsford Convent with NMIT Visual Art department I took these photos which I think evoke a certain atmosphere. Ambiguous and slightly disturbing

What sadness and misery are absorbed in the walls of this institution
