These are small studies A4 also in preparation for the collagraph or dry point that I have in mind. I have used mixed media for the layering.

I am looking at some ideas for a work based around the theme of "Tidal".

Mortimer Menpes

Mortimer Menpes was a new name for me - a South Australian artist who lived in London and was friend with Rossetti, Wilde and co.
A master of the portrait and fine etching and drypoint which had a photographic quality.

The two prints below show the difference between the first state and the second state of an etching. The print blow right is the result of more work being done on the plate - the earlier version is on the left.

Etihad stadium

Today I took part in a life drawing class at Etihad stadium - an odd venue - but not when it is in the context of VCA students helping students at a medical conference who were new to life drawing.
I had a chance to look at the stadium for the first time.
