Painting in the Greek Islands
I have just completed three weeks painting on the islands of Lipsi, Leros and Kalymnos for three weeks with Artemis Tours.
The tour was organised by Diana Psarommatis. She engaged Terry Jarvis as the watercolour tutor.
It was a wonderful experience; because Diana lives in Kalymnos she has local knowledge regarding where to go and how to find great little nooks and havens that even many Greeks are not aware of.
She is also keen to have her participants enjoy Greek experiences - especially local cuisine.
Terry Jarvis was patient and generous in his teaching - giving me lots of great advice and sharing his techniques.
We kept a blog when we were away - www.sueberntravelog.blogspot.com.
If you are tempted to join one of Diana's tours after reading this blog, you can contact her at artemisarttours@hotmail.com.
Here are some pictures from my visual diary.

Colours
In painting class at college (NMIT) we have been talking about colour, well our teacher Geoff has.
He introduced us to to Faber Birren as an expert on colour theory.
In particular different schemes within a painting which emphasise different arrangements/compositions and the use of colour.
So I had a crack at a sample from each:
1. Accenting white
2. Achromatic scheme
3. Colour in a darker scheme
4. Colour in a lighter scheme
5. Tonal scheme
