Small works for Graduate Certificate Exhibition VCA

These are 4 of 12 small works that were part of my contribution to the Small works for Graduate Certificate Exhibition at VCA. They are 8 x 12 cm and were pinned to the wall. They are Japanese paper with wax and pigment. The wax and pigment were applied to intaglio prints on paper.

Mark making and drawing

The second last assignment for the year for the Studio and Materials class at VCA was to create a work based on.....'KITTENS'
Given my popensity to use fake fur in any assignment I can squeeze it into, I decided to not go down the obvious route. Instead  made a series of drawings that represent one of the major activities of kittens - mark making and scrtatching.
They are on rag papaer, and I used various scratching implements, as well as some india ink, pens and gesso.
I did ask the resident experts, Eartha Kitt and Mis Sylvie if they could help, but their response was a scornful stare and complete amnesia about their kittenhood.
