April 1st- we drove to Sorrento to see the mezzotints by Avati at the Temple Gallery.
When we arrived we realised that the gallery is only open on Saturdays and Sundaya. Otherwise it is by appointment.
So I rang the mobile number on the door, and fortunately the owner Renee, was able to pop over and open up for us - for half an hour. And what a half hour treat that was!!!! Avati's mezzotints were superb. What an honour to have a private viewing.
He was mentored by Chagall, and began his mezzotint work during WW2 when he was in Paris in the dark.
So greatful to Renee for letting us see the show.
