Another side of Rome

After a walk around the historical area  of Rome, Trajans' Baths and the remains of the house of Nero, we took a bus to the other side of Rome.
We went to Tor Marancia,  a working class estate where there is an impressive collection of street art.
Around 20 international artists from 10 countries created large works there. The project was conceived by an organisation called 999Contemporary and completed in 2015.
Permission to paint was received from the Rome government which owns the buildings, and the organisers and artists collaborated with the residents.

The results are impressive. The residents seemed quite at ease with us walking around. While we were there, there was only one other couple doing the same thing.
