The eggplants were the first painting I did at the summer school Painting Still Life with Charlotte Thodey. I cannot get the color of the aubergines right in the photo... They are really quite purple in the painting. I cannot find the instructions for setting up white balance correctly on my camera at present..
This is my painting of melons. I started with a dark background and painted into the dark. It took me a day and a half to complete at a fairly pace. Of course it was not possible without the guidance of Charlotte Thodey our patient teacher.
Apsaras or dancing girls, nymphs, celestial beings or female spirits of the clouds- are on all the Angkor temples.
The Ramayana legend is depicted many times on temples in Cambodia and Laos. It is carved in stone on the walls of Angkor Wat.
Angkor Wat ... a wonder of the world. I saw it today. It was very difficult to photograph because of the early morning light and the heat.
