Su Nuraxi Nurghe Sardinia

Before we came to Sardinia we had never seen a nuraghe. Now we have seen many. These stone edifices date back as far as the 17th century BC. They are in many shapes and forms across the island and there are many artifacts found in them in museums in Sassari and Cagliari. We were able to go inside the nuraghe at Su Naraxi and walk in the steps of these ancient people. It was the most disconcerting experience to sit on stone benches where ancient parliaments held meetings so long ago, and to look out over the countryside from defense towers. Su Nuraxi is well preserved and the guide was great.
