The tomb of Tamerlane

Well I feel as though I am a fortunate person, having seen the tomb of Tamerlane (Timur). He always seemed to be a legendary figure, but here in Samarkand it is clear that his presence is still felt, and his story is very real.

Another impressive structure

 With lovely detail on the underside of the gate.

 Tamerlaine's headstone is the dark jade one. His teacher's headstone is in front (with the conical cap). Nice.

 Lots of gold stars decorate the walls.
